Peter Milner BVetMed, BSc, PhD, CertES(Orth), MRCVS
Peter Milner graduated in 1997 from the RVC. Before joining the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge, as Resident in Equine Studies, Peter spent three years in mixed practice in Kent . From 2006 to present Peter is a University of Liverpool Lecturer in Equine Orthopaedics. His clinical and research interests include lameness diagnosis, surgery and imaging, musculoskeletal biology, chondrocyte pathophysiology and investigating mechanisms of pain in laminitis. The Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, University of Liverpool is one of the busiest Equine referral hospitals in the UK. The hospital sees around 2,000 referral cases per annum. This Case Study covers the assessment and work-up of a lameness case in an 11 year old TB gelding. The Case Study proceeds in a logical fashion involving static and dynamic lameness evaluation, response to diagnostic analgesia and then imaging findings, concluding with a discussion on management options following the particular findings in this case.
