In Part 1, a brief description of the indications for gastrointestinal ultrasound in the cat and dog, patient preparation, ultrasound terminology and common artefacts was followed by a description of the normal ultrasound appearance of the gastrointestinal tract and how to find each part of it. In this article, the ultrasound appearance of common abnormalities of the stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, ileocolic junction and colon of the cat and dog, including gastrointestinal foreign bodies, intussusception, neoplasia and inflammatory disease, is described and illustrated.
