Livestock
Livestock
UKVet Livestock is the only dedicated veterinary livestock journal that features cattle, sheep and pigs in each issue.
The three main sections are devoted to the species of livestock: cattle, sheep and pigs. Within each section, topics of clinical relevance are included. A regular feature is Clinical Forum in which a recognised expert outlines a subject relevant to practitioners. An invited panel of leading practitioners then give their opinions on issues raised in that discussion. A wide range of case studies are also covered, including articles examining ways farm practice can promote the range of services it has to offer to farmers.
Reporting vets feature their views in Practice Diary and Livestock Report, popular sections of the journal giving opinion from practitioners from different parts of the UK. There is also a regular bulletin on parasite activity across the UK.
Livestock includes in every issue the UK Disease Profile compiled from the National Animal Disease Information Service (NADIS) data. NADIS reports on disease trends in cattle, sheep and pigs in the UK. It is a network of 40 veterinary practices along with the 6 UK Veterinary Colleges which record cases they see on a daily basis. This information is loaded onto a central disease data base. Click here for more information on NADIS
